Keephills Generating Station is a coal fired station operated by TransAlta, located near Keephills, Alberta, Canada. Unit 3, currently under construction is a low emission station, when it comes online, the older station Wabamun 4 will be taken offline.^[1]

Description

The station consists of the following units:

Unit 1 and 2 are each 400 MW unit operated and owned by TransAlta. ^[2]
Unit 3 is a 450 MW unit under construction as a joint venture between TransAlta and Capital Power Corporation. This unit is a supercritical unit manufactured by Hitatchi. The construction cost of the unit is $1.6 billion. ^[3]
